MySpace Information
MySpace www.myspace.com is an extremely large and popular on line community. It is classed as a social engineering site. There are many other sites on the internet that allow similar interaction among members. All of these sites can pose a threat to you, your children, your family, and your personal information.
As a precaution many concerned parents forbid there children from using myspace and the other sites they hear of in the news.
Although the best course of action depends on the child, it is still very important to read over the MySpace safety information and guidelines. It must be accepted that in our computerized world all children will have access to social engineering sites. I have talked to my children who have friends who are not allowed on MySpace but access the site and similar sites through friends, school, and library computers.

My Space does present a danger to some users, mostly because they do not follow the minimum safety precautions.
Teenagers and children are particularly vulnerable because they are often overly trusting of others, they are accepting, and they crave attention. My Space is not for children under 14 years old.
There are many more online community web sites. All of these sites need to be used with care. You do not want to broadcast exploitable personal information to hackers, script kiddies, stalkers or pedophiles. Parents need to be aware of what their children do online, and what personal information they give to others.
